What's Up?  I really can't believe that someone is bored enough to read our bios, but if you are reading this then I guess you are.  I felt God leading me to plant a church in 2004 when Sandia Baptist was looking for a new mission work to be involved in.  We planted X Factor and have never looked back.  I guess that it really all start my senior year of high school when I went on a mission trip to Makarov, Ukraine.  For that point forward I knew God had called me into ministry.  Together with my wife Joy, our daughter Kylee and son Talon, I look forward to helping facilitate X-Factor to be everything that God plans for it.

I graduated from Hope Christian School in 1997, followed by spending some time in several universities (Oklahoma Baptist, UNM, and finally NMSU) before graduating with a Bachelors of Arts in History with a concentration in ancient Rome.  I recently graduated from Biola University with my Masters of Arts in Christian Apologetics.  I love to do anything outdoors like fishing, hunting, hiking, climbing, etc.  I also love cars and trucks!

It is my hope and prayer that X Factor will simply be a body of believers that is willing and obedient to God.  Sure we do some things a little different that the status quo, but so did Christ.  We truly want to live out 1 Corinthians 9:22 and "become all things to all men so by all possible means I might save some."

Worship Leader
David W. Puvogel II

Hey!  I am the (The-Music-Guy) here at the X!  A little about me... I grew up around the world in many parts of the US and in Thailand and the Philippines (Air Force Brat). I played many sports while in school and love to watch many sports (football, college basketball, X-treme sports, etc.) now.  I moved to NM in 1999 for my senior year and graduated from El Dorado High School in 2000. I also graduated from UNM in 2006 with a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education with a emphasis in math.

I really enjoy music (listening and writing my own music). I was in a Christian rock band (-more than words- / NAtB) for 6 years from 2001-2007. I still have a heart for rock music and enjoy that scene, but also have a great passion for worshiping the one true God. I love the position God has brought me into at the X-Factor and encourage everyone that is involved in a church, whether ours or another, to find out how they can get plugged in and serve the Lord. He has given us many talents and skills for a purpose, let Him work through you in a mighty way with gifts He has provided you and even the ones you may not know about.

I recently got married to a wonderful young lady, Christina Marie on August 9, 2008. I am so blessed to have her in my life and thank God for bringing her into my life.

Youth Leader
Scott Downing

Hi everybody! I'm Scott, and I'm the Youth Guy here at
The X-Factor. I'm 24 years old and a graduate of the University of New Mexico where I received my Bachelors in English/Professional Writing and a Minor in Religious
Studies. I'm happily married and inexpressively blessed
with a beautiful and wonderful wife of three years, Amanda! We have an amazing and beautiful brand new daughter, Mallory!

I have been a Christian since I was 3 years old, and when
I was about 15 I realized that God was calling me to serve
Him in Youth Ministry. Though I spent several years trying
to outthink and outreason God and convince myself that
He wasn't really calling me to be a Youth Minister, I finally surrendered to Him, and in January 2008 I accepted His
call, where ever it may lead, and I started leading out with
X-session, the youth group at The X Factor.

I have been involved with youth, whether as a participant, adult helper/leader, or Youth Minister since I was 13, and I have seen and experienced a lot in this area. One of the most important things that God has taught me through all this is that He is not some meaningless ritual, but abundant(excessive) life. John 10:10 states "I have come that they may have life and have it in abundance." It is this abundance that we must instill in our youth; and we need to show them how to experience and know God in a real way because this is what will keep them close to Him as they grow older and help them weather the many storms of life that they must face.

This abundance also implies joy, love, and fun. Christianity is fun; and we should show that joy, and love that comes from it, to our youth. Worship of God does not and should not be mundane or boring. It is abundant, exciting, excessive, and that is why our youth group is X-session. It is our goal and ambition: excessive love, excessive life, excessive worship of the God who exceeds our greatest imaginations!

God Bless!
